Orthodox-Catholic

What do you make of this difference between the Orthodox and the Catholic on Original Sin, Old Sage?
It doesn't make much sense to me.
So, it seems a bit strange to you?
How do you see it?
Well, I can't see much difference in what either Church teaches.
Any difficulty for me is that the Orthodox separate the sin from the consequences of the sin. They say the consequences comes upon each descendant of Adam but not the sin!
So you reckon the sin and the consequences are one and the same.
I do, but as The Church teaches there is no personal sin involved in Adam's descendants, but rather it is a state of being.
I can see your point - I think. For example if the consequences of sin are taken away then the sin is taken away - and vice versa.
